Job Description:

SCA is seeking a motivated law student for a paid research associate (RA) position. The position is approximately 20 hours per week. Pay starts at $20/hour and could increase to $25/hour after one semester of work if the student’s performance and commitment warrant working a second semester. Tasks include research and writing both legal and financial articles, comment letters, categorizing compliance data to build a reg-tech AI tool in the financial compliance area, drafting social media posts, and helping with business development through meetings and writing proposals. Work is primarily remote. Excellent verbal communication skills and responsiveness are necessary as the CEO is blind. RAs should also be prepared to assist with some administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and drafting emails.

Qualifications:

We would like someone who can commit for the full Fall semester, with opportunity to stay on for the Spring depending on performance. RAs should be prepared to work at least one day during the week where they are “on call,” and may need to work on 1-2 Sundays per month, alternating with the team. Other work can be conducted more flexibly in accordance with agreed upon deadlines.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and Adobe is preferred but can be taught.  We are looking for someone who is dedicated, organized, adaptable, and can work professionally both with a small team and independently.
